“Dancing at the Edge of the World” presents the works of five international artists selected for the 8th edition of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Sculpture Prize, in collaboration between Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro and Fondazione ICA Milano. Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s essay collection of the same title, the exhibition explores some of the most pressing urgencies of the present through a reinterpretation of sculpture as a living organism in continuous transformation.

The project room of Fondazione ICA Milano hosts for the first time three works from the "52 Ludlow" series by Giovanni Stefano Ghidini (1957, Urago d’Oglio, Italy), part of a broader project developed by the artist over a span of twenty-five years. This group of works conveys the essence of a research practice that intertwines nature, sculpture, and photography, originating in 1997 on the rooftop of a building in New York’s Lower East Side, where Ghidini cultivated and transformed sunflowers into monumental, anthropomorphic presences. Through a ritual of care, waiting, and transformation, the flowers become a metaphor for life, its cyclicality, and its impermanence.

The exhibition "The Second Shadow. Dozie Kanu Mirroring Marc Camille Chaimowicz, with Shared Echoes and Kindred Spirits" brings into dialogue two environmental installations conceived as rooms: Jean Cocteau (2003–2014) by Marc Camille Chaimowicz (Paris 1947 – London 2024) and a new site-specific intervention by Dozie Kanu (1993, Houston), designed as a response to and reflection of the historic work. The project originates as a reflection on the double, inheritance, and the affective transmission of forms, activating a genealogy that traverses Cocteau, Chaimowicz, and Kanu.
