Prey and predator are terms we've undoubtedly heard in reference to animals, reading an article or perhaps watching a documentary analyzing the relationships between the various elements of a food chain. This teaches us how a living being can be both predator and prey to someone else who dominates it.
Such a powerful theme could not fail to inspire numerous artists, with differing outcomes depending on their respective artistic practices. What they have in common is the choice to represent and reference animals in their works as symbols of emotions and ideas.
We have also decided to dedicate a special project within the exhibition to a young artist and photographer whom Collezione 54 has followed and supported for several years: Martina Zanin.
