The Consolandi Collection is one of the most significant private collections of contemporary art in Italy. Established in the late 1950s by Paolo Consolandi, a Milanese notary, together with his wife Franca, an archaeologist, the collection was shaped by an intuitive and passionate engagement with the most advanced artistic practices of its time.

Over the decades, it has developed through a free and highly personal approach, anticipating artists and trends while bringing together masters of the post-war period, from Lucio Fontana to Piero Manzoni, alongside more recent international voices.

Characterised by a wide range of media, from painting and sculpture to photography, installations and artists’ books, the collection is distinguished by its intimate and domestic dimension: the works are meant to be lived with, in continuous dialogue with the home environment.

The visit offers a rare opportunity to enter a deeply personal vision of collecting, where passion, sensitivity and a long-term perspective have shaped a coherent and remarkable ensemble, reflecting over half a century of contemporary art.
