Valeria Napoleone has been a collector for nearly three decades, dedicating her practice exclusively to contemporary women artists. Since starting her collection in New York in 1997, she has been forging close relationships with the artists she champions and has become a pivotal and pioneer advocate of many of today’s most acclaimed artists. She has recently completed an extensive renovation of her penthouse in Milan, located atop a landmark building in Porta Venezia.

Occupying the seventh and eighth floors, the penthouse brings together works by artists long represented in her collection alongside contributions from artists such as Nathalie du Pasquier or Lily van der Stokker, each of whom has created bespoke, site-specific interventions throughout the space. This enduring commitment to artists is woven into every aspect of the home, where works are not presented as isolated objects but as integral elements of a lived environment.

The house features practices by a range of women artists, including Nicole Eisenman, Hella Jongerius, Amelie von Wulffen, Silke Otto-Knapp, Nanda Vigo, Frances Stark, Paulina Olowska, Julia Scher, and Margherita Manzelli, among others.
