The Vincenzo Agnetti Archive presents the exhibition: Vincenzo Agnetti: Images of Power.
Power is a central theme in Agnetti’s poetics: the power of language, of science, of technology, of the subject, and of desire.
From Tesi, the book that denounces “the abuse of power over words,” to the Inserzioni anonime, and to the works themselves: a journey that, through different styles and materials, reveals a constant and complex engagement with this theme.
For this exhibition, which coincides with his centenary, we have chosen Profezia as the guiding work — a visionary and deeply political piece from 1970. Around it are several axioms, some flags from the Amleto politico, Riserva di caccia, and a few other elements: traces that speak to us and convey an unmistakably contemporary feeling.
